Hair Irons

Tips for Beautiful, Healthy Looking Hair

Purchasing a hair iron is probably one of the best things you could ever buy for yourself. You don’t have to stress as much about bad hair days because you can do touch-ups quickly and as often as you need to. A good plan normally is to do a full-fledged blow out/styling every third day, and then go over your hair with the iron on the in between days just to keep it looking fresh.

Using as much heat on your hair as a straightener gives off can be damaging, so using it as infrequently as possible is the best bet. There are a few beauty tips that can help keep your hair looking as healthy as possible, and they can be equally helpful to anyone out there using a flat iron.

Ceramic Hair Irons

A ceramic hair iron tends to yield the best results, and as the name evokes, the heated plates are ceramic based and offer consistent heat throughout. A CHI hair iron is probably the most well-known and best hair straightener out there to prove this. Their straighteners use Far Infra Red, which heats the hair from the inside out and penetrates deeper for better results. CHI has a wide variety of flat irons to choose from. They have ceramic irons to provide the most consistent heat, ionic irons to seal in moisture, and far infrared irons to reduce static and frizz. These are all offered in a variety of sizes as well.

Another tip is not to use too much product in your hair. You don’t want to cancel out everything you do with the straightener by weighing it down with product. As they say, too much of a good thing is bad. Using products help to maintain shape, add volume, and remove frizz – just remember the key word is moderation.

Probably the most obvious mistake you can make is, as mentioned before, using too much heat on your hair. Between all the tools out there – blow dryers, flat irons, curling irons, crimpers, and hot rollers – it’s hard to use them in moderation. They help your hair look great and achieve a style, but using them too often can damage the hair. All the heat you are putting on the hair can break the cuticle. By using heat activated shampoo and conditioner, you can help, but moderation still is the key

Another great beauty tip is to eat the proper diet. You always hear about the benefits of eating right, but you never hear about the positive effects it can have on your hair. Maintaining a diet rich in oils, and most importantly Vitamin E is essential in getting shiny results. Some examples of foods that contain Vitamin E are nuts and seeds, asparagus, olives, spinach and other green leafy vegetables, and avocado. Some good choices of oils to include in your diet would be canola, corn, sunflower and soybean oils. Water is also a key part of your diet for healthy hair. Just like your body needs to be hydrated to stay healthy, your hair does as well.

Following these beauty tips, as well as throwing in a few of your own, will allow you to use your hair iron and still maintain healthy, stylish hair!
