Kid Spas? What are YOUR thoughts?

I've been watching the news today, and a big topic is a new thing, Kiddie Spas, cater to as young as 4 but dont turn away 2 & 3 yr olds. By what I'm hearing there is one in Miami, FL, and they can get manicures and pedicures and cucumber eye treatments and such, pretty much a full blown spa, just for kids. I saw pics of the employees in bright pink wigs (at least I hope they are wigs lol) and bright and flashy and afterwards they have a little "runway" where the girls put on butterfly wings and tutus and have fun.

Ok, they are having people calling in, both sides...some agree, some disagree with this. I want to know what your thoughts are on this? Here is the link to the news report http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2009/04/15/estevez.too.young.to.spa.wfor

I'll go ahead and state my case lol, I think its a good idea....they hold parties, and just seems like something fun to do...the ONLY thing I would change, is to have it for moms and daughters, have a mother daughter day. I can see using it as a reward for good report card, or good behavior or something like that. In **MY** opinion, your child will turn out how YOU raise them, a day at a spa isnt going to turn them into a complete spoiled brat.

i agree. Something fun for the little one on occasion is fine. I'm all about planning special events for my son. If i had a daughter, i would have no problem letting her enjoy a day at a kid's spa.

While I agree that a special event may call for an equally special celebration, such as a day of kid pampering.

Though, as it stands I as a grown adult barely find time or finances to enjoy such luxuries. The closest I've come to any "spa" treatment is getting my brows done or a mani/pedi. Which are rare now a days. Economy blah friggin blah...
