You all should know by now that Jeffery and Jaylin both have a speech delay, that's not news anymore. But now apparently Jaxon is developmentally delayed. He's 7months old now, and he's still not sitting up, or crawling, or scooting across the floor yet. His pediatrician said he's at a 5month old level, that bothers me! He was only born 2 weeks early there is no reason for him to be behind 2months! No, Jeffery wasn't sitting up at this age, but he was sitting up holding with his hands, Jaxon isn't even doing that without falling over as soon as I let go. Jeffery used to do the "commando crawl" where he just used his arms to pull his body across the floor, Jaxon don't want to even try that, I put him on his belly on the floor and he just screams when he can't get to what he wants. No, I don't just give up, I do let him cry for awhile and he just gives up, lays his head down and sucks his thumb. He does like to put weight on his legs, and I do think he'll walk before he crawls because Jeffery did the same. I don't like his pediatrician and I plan to switch doctors to get a 2nd opinion on the matter. That and he gets out of breath really quickly, that worries me too, but the pediatrician won't listen (I just have a grand old time with doctors...NOT!)
Now, I said I'd update on Jeffery's behavior awhile back and I forgot to. Jeffery's primary doctor thinks he is Asperger's. I haven't really looked into what the treatment will be for him if that is what they diagnose him with, but when we had our evaluation at Kluge for his behavior the psychologist said he comes closest to Asperger's than anything else, and now that he's acting out in school more, his primary doctor is pushing for that diagnosis. I will find out more on that next week. If you are wondering why I am hoping for a diagnosis other than "normal child with not so normal behavior" it's because with a diagnosis we can get proper treatment for him, to help him deal better. Right now we have intensive in home therapy for 10hours a week and that is killing me! His behavior hasn't improved at all, and quite honestly I'm tired of getting beat up by my 4 almost 5 year old son! I don't know where to go from here. We're stalled out until we get more help...I'm not giving up, Jeffery is smart as can be, I love him to death but this aggressive behavior has got to stop!
In better news, Jaylin is coming along great in school, and now uses the potty sometimes. We let her pick out her own big girl undies and she loves them. Yesterday she even went potty in school, today, she wouldn't use the potty at all, and she peed in the van as soon as she got in...Jeff was mad, I told him accidents happen and we're just starting. But it is nice that we haven't put her in a pull up in 2 days and she has come home in the same undies! I'm very proud of her for that! Her speech is also coming along GREAT! She is putting more words together and saying a lot more words! It's so great! Jeffery's speech is also coming along great, we hold conversations with him and it's so awesome!!! I'm one proud mommy!

that is all great news! glad to hear it! hope the diagnosis comes soon so mommy can get better, and Jeffry can develop properly.
You are in same place I was years ago with our grandson am raising with Aspergers.. if you want to talk about Aspergers or ASD, please give me a call, I am always looking for moms that we can lean on and support. You just get so overwhelmed at times that it just gets me in the dumps... call me.!
Oh Jackie, I know your kids are your life and to worry about them takes a toll on you. Find some comfort that babies are different, maybe Jaxon is plenty comfortable where he is now. Charlie loathed tummytime, and we thought it'd be forever until she crawled. She was doing the army crawl when she "should have" been crawling, and didn't officially crawl until much later.
I hope that the road to finding a new Pedi for Jeffrey is a successful one, and you get some answers/diagnosis to ease your mind.
So great that Jaylin is doing well with school! She's grown so much in the short time I've known you.
Visiting from Canada through MBC
Following you, hope you follow back!
