My dad

I don't know what we'd do without my dad! Today when I went down to pick Jeffery up off the bus I stopped and checked the mail (something I do everyday) and in there was a shutoff notice from the electric company (remember the almost $1000 bill we got!) We still have a little over $700 left to pay on it and they want it NOW. So I'm freaking out now...Jeff's work has cut hours, his paycheck might make $800. I called the electric company and they want to set us up on a payment plan, to start we need a little over $300 before May 19th. We MIGHT be able to pull that off...but we're having a baby in 2 weeks and we're not ready!

So while I was out today getting milk and toilet paper, I stopped by my dad's house. We talked causally for awhile and I brought it up....money. I asked that if we NEEDED it, could we borrow some money to pay our electric bill. He said of course, he made me feel good...saying that he KNOWS we're trying, and we're budgeting our money the best we can and doing very well on our own....shoot it's been a long while since we've had to borrow money. He didn't even ask how much we'd need, or give me a limit of how much he'd be able to let us borrow....no we're not going to borrow thousands of dollars. We just need enough to help us keep our electric and all our basics on.

I just love my dad. He knows how to help, he asked what we're doing to keep from getting that kind of electric bill again, and suggested things and such. I know I can always count on him when we need him....like now! Shoot, we went from talking about money, to talking about the town, my blog here, photography, and all kinds of stuff!

That's so awesome! Sounds like you have a great relationship with your Dad! It's so comforting to know you have someone so special and always there to help! I lost my Dad 3 years ago and miss him and think about him everyday!;)

I'm glad your dad was able to help out! I wish mine would! I'm a single mom and always having problems!
