Jeep Wrangler Unlimited g-edition (review)

I'm a stroller junkie, okay I admit it! I love them, I love having a variety of strollers to choose from. The Jeep Jogging stroller I reviewed the end of last year was big, and I loved it for walks around our neighborhood and this horrible dirt road, it was perfect. But for travel...not so much we took it when we went to Great Wolf Lodge and it was just too big. So I emailed the representative for Kolcraft asking for suggestions on strollers that are good for travel, since we go down to Norfolk a lot and I feel like I'm always on the go. She suggested the a umbrella stroller. You would think since Jaxon is my 3rd child I would be on the up and up on strollers, but this stroller addiction is new once I had Jaxon. I had a regular stroller with Jeffery (the one that a car seat attaches to), with Jaylin we purchased a tandem double stroller since Jeffery was still young and still liked to be in a stroller. But now I have 2 kids who like to walk...FAST, and a baby. After looking at the umbrella strollers Kolcraft offered, I decided on the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited g-edition.

What first attracted me to the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited g-edition was the color, for some reason Jaxon=green haha! Then of course the fact that it's made of recycled materials! Ever since I got it, I've kept it in the van so I have it where ever I go and need it, which seems to be everywhere! Most recently it went on our trip to Norfolk with us, you probably saw a picture of Jaxon in a stroller on the beach in my post about our trip to the beach, and here is another one on the beach, he's so happy in it! It's comfortable! By the way, no, I was not able to push the stroller through the sand, Amy and I carried it to where we were going to be standing, then carried it back to the boardwalk where we walked the whole thing.

We can't forget that we went to the zoo (separate post about the zoo trip is coming!) so here is a picture of Jaxon and Jaylin at a sphere which is right as you enter the Virginia Zoo. It was cold at the zoo, so he's got plenty of blankets on him. At the zoo we took it everywhere, through narrow exhibits, all over, it was a blast. We also had the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited g-edition when we went to the Air and Space Center in Hampton, that stroller glided right through the gift shop aisles (which are VERY narrow) and after we purchased what we wanted (I got a stuffed monkey I need to take a picture of) there is a basket underneath that has plenty of room! There are also 2 side pouches for small things. There is a cup holder for it, but because we were getting it in and out of the van so often, and the van was PACKED FULL (Amy went with us, so extra bags) the cup holder ended up coming off (not breaking!) so we have it and it's useful, it's just in the back of our van right now.

The features of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited g-edition are:

  • Cool-climate roll-up exposes mesh for increased air circulation & creates a head rest
  • Extra large seating area holds up to 50 lbs
  • Handle height great for tall parents
  • Convenient travel bag
  • Extra large sunrider canopy easily adjusts to block the sun
  • Parent cup holder
  • All-terrain wheels
  • Quick umbrella fold with carry handle
  • Storage basket and cargo bags for gear
  • Five-point safety harness
The one thing I didn't care for with the stroller was the "convenient" travel bag. It is VERY hard to put on, so we just said forget it and don't use it. Everything else about the stroller is awesome, it's lightweight, has a "window" in the canopy so I can open it and see Jaxon in it, and it's easy to fold and unfold. Jaylin even rode in it once when she walked with me to the van to get it, I stroller her back to the beach in it...she hasn't been in a stroller in a LONG time so she giggled the whole time. Jaxon is a chunk, so carrying him is a strain, pushing him in this stroller is like pushing air!

So if you are looking for a nice, lightweight, take anywhere stroller, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited g-edition is for you! This is a stroller that will last for years. Retail price is $139.99. Which isn't bad considering you can get use out of it until your child is 50lbs (the size of my 5year old!)
